This policy explains how BM Automotive Group Ltd ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit this website or contact us through it. We are committed to handling your information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
BM Automotive Group Ltd is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17448407. Our registered office is 27 Brownlee Place, Northampton NN4 6GA, United Kingdom.
You can contact us about this policy or your information by phone on +44 7904 292068 or by email at contact@bmautomotivegroup.co.uk .
What we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect the information you choose to give us:
- your name and phone number;
- your email address, if you provide it;
- the service you need and the location or postcode of your vehicle, if you provide them;
- the content of your message.
If you call us, message us on WhatsApp or contact us through Facebook, we receive the information you share through that channel, such as your phone number or profile name.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information (for example, health details) in your message.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a recovery or transport job. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and performing that contract.
- To keep basic records of enquiries and jobs and to deal with any questions or disputes. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running our business.
- To meet legal obligations, for example tax and accounting records for jobs we carry out.
We do not use your information for marketing and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:
- Web3Forms — delivers messages sent through our contact form to our email inbox.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website, routes our email and provides privacy-friendly visitor statistics (see below).
- Our email provider, where messages are received and stored.
If you contact us through WhatsApp or Facebook, those services process your information under their own privacy policies.
We may also share information where required by law, or with your insurer or repairer when you ask us to.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for up to 1 month, unless the enquiry leads to a job, in which case we keep the related records for as long as we need them for legal, tax and accounting purposes (normally 6 years).
Cookies and visitor statistics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregated statistics such as page views. It does not use cookies and does not track you across websites.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive your information in a portable format, where this applies.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns first.
